The Ministry of HomeAffairs has finally come up with a statement sighing relief to the nation. As extending the lockdown was the need of the hour so was ensuring some relaxation. To this, MHA said- “to mitigate hardship to the public, select additional activities have been allowed which will come into effect from 20 April 2020. These limited exemptions will be operationalized by States, UTs, district administrations based on strict compliance to the existing guidelines.

Here is the Complete List of Businesses Facilitating from April 20-

Health Services

  1. AYUSH
  2. Pharmaceutical, pathology labs, and medical research labs
  3. Chemists
  4. Dispensaries & nursing homes
  5. Veterinary hospitals
  6. Drug manufacturing companies
Public Utility Services

  1. Postal services
  2. Sanitation and waste management sectors
  3. Gas sector
  4. Transportation
  5. Oil sector
  6. Internet and telecommunication sector
Private Businesses-

  1. Cable, electronic media, DTH services
  2. Call centers (providing government facilitates only)
  3. Courier services
  4. Warehouse services at airports & railway stations
  5. IT services (allowing 50% of employees only)
  6. Plumbers, carpenters, electricians, motor mechanics, IT repair service providers
Essential Goods-

  1. Essential goods supply chain personal will be functional including- manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers (at grain mandi)
  2. Booths supplying- dairy products, hygiene items, vegetables, grocery items, meat, fodder (with time & discipline restrictions)
MNREGA-

  1. MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) will perform all operational activities following social distancing norms strictly
  2. Irrigation and water conservation operations to be handled on a priority
Social Services-

  1. Important and urgent operations at social homes for- mentally challenged, widow observation, senior citizens, destitute, women, children, disabled will have to be proceeded
  2. Anganwadi operations- distributing meals to children, lactating mothers, and women
  3. Processing pensions of freedom fighter, old age, widow
Financial Services-

  1. All banks and its branches along with ATMs will be working
  2. RBI & RBI regulated financial markets including- CCIL & NCPI
  3. Insurance companies
  4. ATM & cash management sectors
  5. Security personnel at banks & ATMs
As far as the educational sector is concerned, it has been advised to conduct the important classes via electronic mediums or maximize the use of educational channels for teaching purposes.

With this, all the employers have to abide by hygiene instructions recommended by the Ministry of Home Affairs. It includes-

  1. No gathering of a large number of people
  2. It is mandatory to wear a face mask while on workplace
  3. Mandatory temperature screening
  4. Ensuring sanitizers at the workplace
  5. Ensure the use of ‘Arogya Setu’ app by each employee
  6. Employees movement outside the office buildings is restricted
  7. Employers need to facilitate employees with safe transportation services
